AOAO Foundation Update
By Gary S. Ulrich, DO, FAOAO, FACOS
AOAO Foundation President
By now you may have received the Foundation’s first message regarding its formation. This has been a collaborative effort between the AOAO Board of Directors and the newly formed Board of the AOAO Foundation. Through these efforts proper funding, documentation and strategic plans were cultivated and developed in order to receive approval of 501c3 status.
During the upcoming 55th Postgraduate Seminar at Amelia Island Plantation, Florida, the efforts of the AOAO Foundation will become more visible. You will notice signs at the meeting. There will be a Foundation booth in the exhibit hall to further introduce our foundation mission statement and provide information on future projects and fundraising activities. Planning has started on a charity golf outing on Friday, April 17. Proceeds from the golf tournament will go to the AOAO Foundation.
On behalf of the AOAO Foundation Board of Directors, I would like to invite the AOAO membership to donate directly to the Foundation. This is an exciting time for the AOAO. It is a time of growth and of moving to the forefront in orthopedic surgery through educational research and philanthropic endeavors. Once again, stay tuned for further details and future updates in The Orthopod, at our meetings or online.
