Government Affairs Committee

The purpose of the AOAO Government Affairs Committee is to evaluate governmental policies pertaining to the practice of orthopedic surgery, work with the AOA to advocate for political and educational equity for Osteopathic orthopedists, review position statements and provide information to the AOAO members on governmental and regulatory issues affecting the practice of orthopedic surgery.  The Committee meets twice annually with the Government Affairs Committee of the ACOS and as directed by the AOAO President.

AOAO Staff Updates

Graduate Medical Education/Residency Training

Crystal Cruey has been AOAO’s Association Administrator for the past three years. She also has been the primary contact for residents and Program Directors regarding the AOAO Case Log System. As of February 10, 2014, Crystal will also be working with the Evaluating Committee on resident and Program Director reporting.

Exhibits Management

Effective February 19, 2014, Dana Gibson is the new Director of Corporate and Educational Support for the AOAO. Dana was most recently the Executive Director of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. Her years of association management experience bring understanding and skill to her new role in exhibits and sponsorship.
