AOAO Foundation Update

Dr. UlrichBy Gary S. Ulrich, DO, FAOAO

As you may have heard, the AOAO Foundation is currently taking steps to implement and establish a Virtual Library.  This online library will serve orthopedic surgeons who are either in practice or in training.

Initially, the Virtual Library will consist of journal content with texts and other useful learning aids to follow. You will soon, if you haven’t already, receive a pledge card asking for financial support for this project. Your donation will go directly to the AOAO Foundation and will help to defray the cost of this Library as well as other Foundation scholarly projects. Specifically, the Virtual Library will be a direct member benefit for all AOAO members.

More information about the Library is available on the AOAO Foundation website.  Please consider donating!

This year, the AOAO Foundation will once again award three academic scholarship awards for excellence in poster presentation and sports medicine research. This effort is supported by DonJoy. Award winners will be publicly announced during the Annual Meeting in Chicago.

This year’s recipients are:

  1. Bryan Jarvis, DO, for outstanding research in sports medicine submitted during residency training.
  2. Matthew Cullen, DO, for outstanding research submitted for the 2017 Annual Meeting.
  3. Mark Rose, DO, for outstanding research submitted for the 2017 Annual Meeting.

Please help me to acknowledge and commend these young surgeons for their efforts in Orthopedic residency research.
