Skills Lab Update

Skills Lab Course Director
The AOAO sponsored a skills lab held on January 8, 2016 at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. The lab covered shoulder arthroscopy topics including repair and reconstructive techniques. Based on discussion among those involved, I am very pleased and proud to report that the AOAO skills lab was a resounding success. With generous support by Smith & Nephew, DePuy Synthes, DonJoy and Trice Medical, we were able to set up six lab stations. Each station was equipped with shoulder specimens and a full arthroscopic equipment set up, accommodating two surgeons per specimen.
The lab staff members were extremely accommodating, creating an extremely user-friendly environment with state of the art video equipment. In addition to the lab experience, each session in the morning and afternoon contained short didactic session in the classroom. It was a complete and thoroughly educational experience for all that attended.
A repeat of this lab is tentatively scheduled at Marian for Friday, January 13, 2017. Watch for details online this summer.
