Free Public Education Program: New, updated information to educate people in your community on bone health and osteoporosis
The U.S. Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) have partnered together to offer a free of charge, public education program on Bone Health.
Fit to a T, is a program on bone health and osteoporosis. The presentation and handout materials have been updated for 2016 by the program’s Advisory Committee. The goal of the program is to educate both men and women the necessary steps to assess their risk for osteoporosis, how to prevent bone loss and a fragility fracture, particularly secondary fractures. Participants will learn about the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis. Presenters are health care professionals, and a valued benefit of the program is to afford participants the opportunity to interact directly with the presenter(s).
USBJI will work with any AOAO member interested in organizing a session, and supply materials needed for the one-hour program.
Sessions feature a PowerPoint presentation, question and answer segment, artwork for flyers and posters, and handout materials.
