Hang Ten! We are back to California!

2014 Annual Meeting, October 23-25, 2014, The Terranea Oceanfront Resort, Rancho Palos Verdes

By Steven D. Morton, DO, FAOAO
CME Committee Chair

We are heading back to the West for our 2014 Annual Meeting.  I know, I know, what are we thinking? Two years in a row going west for the Annual Meeting? I assure you it will be well worth it! I promise we will start to move things back East once we are done with this West Coast run.

We have a fantastic program lined up for up to 24.5 hours of AOA Category 1-A CME credits. Between the quality of speakers, information available, and location, these meetings just seem to be getting better and better.

Not only do we have a high quality program, but also the Terranea Oceanfront Resort looks amazing. Beautiful rooms in a beautiful setting, right on the ocean.  It will be a great venue to relax after the many hours of education.

What’s not to like about Southern California?  The seemingly perfect temperature year round allows for activities for the whole family.  Of course, we will all be busy learning new techniques at the Annual Meeting, but when the conference day ends there are plenty of night life and dining options.  Heck, the Terranea serves locally grown food, it can’t get much fresher than that!

For the family, consider nearby Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland, Universal Studios, and museums of all types.  If you are into people watching and “star gazing”, consider Venice Beach and Rodeo Drive. How much craziness can you ask for?

Speaking of craziness, don’t forget to pre-register for the ICD-10 Workshop featuring Margaret Maley from Karen Zupko and Associates. This workshop will be sure to “rock your world”, or at least give you some insight on what is coming down the line.

This year’s Key Note Speaker is Jim “The Rookie” Morris. He was the oldest rookie to play baseball and the inspiration behind Walt Disney’s blockbuster film, The Rookie. He will share with us his inspirational and motivational message about following your dreams.  I’ve read his book and what a story!
I can’t wait to see you there, and I promise we will be meeting in the east in the future.
