Contributions to The Orthopod are Welcome

Dr. BeckebaughBy Jeffrey P. Beckenbaugh, DO
Editor, AOAO Orthopod

Greetings to everyone, and welcome to the Fall 2013 edition of The Orthopod.  Much is going on in the Academy and you will see important information included in this edition that we hope you find helpful.  In the end, this newsletter is for the membership and by the membership.

I would encourage all who are interested to submit ideas for Orthopod topics, as well as submit abstracts of work that you have collaborated on.  Our hope is to have rich clinical conversation along with the informative topics addressed.

In the next issue, a review of current thoughts will be presented on Direct Anterior Hip replacement.  This has obviously been a hot topic, gaining popularity with both our colleagues and our patients.  I welcome suggestions on articles or other publications to include in this review.  In the following edition, I would like to present a review on reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.

Hopefully everyone has had a great summer, and we look forward to your feedback.  Suggestions for other hot topics to review, as well as volunteers to help with the reviews are welcome.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts to The Orthopod

The AOAO is accepting abstract submissions for possible inclusion in future publications of the Academy’s e-newsletter, The Orthopod. Abstracts must be original research on any topic related to the field of orthopedics and may be submitted by any member of the Academy.

Requirements

Acceptance

The Editor of The Orthopod will review submissions and determine acceptance for future publications based on relevance of research and quality of content. Either the Editor or the AOAO administrative office will notify abstract authors of acceptance and anticipated publication date.

Submission

Submit abstracts to The Orthopod editor at Orthopodeditor@aoao.org.
