residents and students

National SAOAO President
The SAOAO recently had a competition for a new design of the organization’s logo. We were faced with a tough decision between all of the amazing entries, but in the end, we decided on the one we felt would best represent the overall message of the organization. The SAOAO and AOAO would like to extend our congratulations to Pinang Shastri from TouroCOM-NY for his creativity and submission.
Currently, we are working on developing white coat pins for members and will be distributing them at this upcoming fall conference. The 75th Annual AOAO Meeting will be held in Washington, DC on October 13-15 at the Washington Marriott Marquis. The SAOAO will also be holding their biannual conference there. We take great pride in this conference and believe it is the best chance for interaction with program directors from a variety of orthopedic programs. Their knowledge and expertise have been priceless in guiding us towards residency. I encourage all our members to attend the upcoming Annual Meeting this fall and direct any questions or concerns towards our program director panel. Furthermore, we will also be in contact with residents in order to set up a speed mentoring session where students are able to obtain insight into the daily activities for this profession as well as other guidance.
During our last conference, we elected a new SAOAO board, but we are still looking for someone to become the new conference chair. Responsibilities of this position include working closely with the president to create the student-run conference as well as forming a strong relationship with many directors. If you are interested in the position, please email us at email@example.com.
I would like to wish all of our SAOAO members good luck on their upcoming boards and hope to see you at the upcoming conference in October.
