Member Resources, Educational Opportunities and Chances to Contribute
By James S. Mason, DO, FAOAO
I encourage all of you to visit AOAO.org for member resources. The web site went through a large upgrade, and has continually been improved over the past year. The features of the new web site include a Member Resources tab which includes access to AOAO meeting requirements and your attendance history, AOBOS OCC and Specialty Credit information, and a link to AOA CME requirements. You can also update your member profile in the Doctor Locator and you can renew your membership online with just a few keystrokes. The Meetings and Events section will update you on information regarding the upcoming meetings. The News and Publications section includes access to the Orthopod, Legislative Updates and the AOAO History Book. There are many other features in the new website and I encourage you to explore and use this valuable resource.
During the upcoming 55th Postgraduate Seminar at Amelia Island Plantation, Florida, the efforts of the AOAO Foundation will become more visible. You will notice signs at the meeting. There will be a Foundation booth in the exhibit hall to further introduce our Foundation mission statement and provide information on future projects and fundraising activities. Please participate in the charity golf outing on Friday, April 17. Proceeds from the golf tournament will go to the AOAO Foundation.
55th AOAO Postgraduate Seminar
I imagine most of you are looking forward to spring, as most of the country is in the midst of a very cold (and for some very snowy) winter. Our next meeting is quickly approaching and I hope you will attend the AOAO 55th Postgraduate Seminar in beautiful Amelia Island, FL. The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is nestled on 1,350 acres at the tip of a barrier island just off the Northeast Florida coast. Having recently undergone an $85 million renovation you can expect to enjoy luxurious oceanfront accommodations, world-class resort pools, championship golf, full-service spa, endless dining options, and family-friendly activities. The CME committee and the Program Chair have put together an outstanding program. I hope to see you soon in warm and sunny Florida!
