Program and Information
Upon completion of this skills lab course, the participants will have:
1. Reviewed basic arthroscopic shoulder anatomy;
2. Discussed subacromial space shoulder pathology that may be addressed by arthroscopy;
3. Described techniques to treat subacromial shoulder pathology by arthroscopic techniques including subacromial decompression, distal clavicle excision and rotator cuff repair;
4. Explain shoulder instability and how to decide on cause of instability including soft tissue, bony deficiency or combined;
5. Identify techniques of arthroscopic shoulder stabilization for soft tissue instability and open Latarjet Procedure for bony or combined instability.
The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.
The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics designates this program for a maximum of 7.5 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
