61st Annual Spring Meeting - In Person and Virtual
April 15 - 17, 2021

Welcome

Dennis Blackburn DOHello!

Here we are, another Spring dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic. Life keeps on moving!

It’s hard to believe that one year ago, the country shut down forcing us to cancel the 2020 Annual Spring Meeting. Many of our members have let us know they missed not meeting in person while others are dealing with travel restrictions or have safety concerns. To offer options, the 61st Annual Spring Meeting, will be our first ever hybrid meeting offering participation in person or virtually. The Grand America Hotel, located in a beautiful setting in Salt Lake City, has implemented numerous safety measures for hotel guests and meeting space that will look a little different with social distancing.

Lectures from our canceled 2020 Annual Spring Meeting were either moved to the 2020 Annual Fall Meeting or to this year’s Spring Meeting. I liked the theme from last year and decided to bring it forward. “Orthopedic Technologies and Techniques on the Horizon” will be the focus of the lecture topics.

The CME Committee, led by Richard Crank, DO, FAOAO, Chair, has done a wonderful job developing quality programs in a virtual format over the past year (the Virtual Board Review Course and last Fall’s Virtual Annual Meeting). The Committee along with a terrific group of moderators are presenting another great program you won’t want to miss. The educational sessions will be recorded so you won’t have to miss any of the lectures. Watch for the updates to the meeting information in this Mobile Meeting Guide.

I hope we will all be able to meet up with our past colleagues in person or virtually. See you there.

Dennis Blackburn, DO, FAOAO
Program Chair
